PDO Thread Lifts

PDO Thread Lifts

The PDO Thread Lift is an effective alternative to facelifts, neck lifts, and other procedures for tightening the skin. In this minimally invasive procedure, the skin is lifted without causing any downtime. PDO threads are flexible and durable absorbable sutures.

Before the PDO thread procedure, a topical anesthetic will be applied to make it as comfortable as possible. A long cannula is used to insert the PDO threads. In order to achieve the desired lift, the threading process can be repeated several times. Although the threads lift the skin, they do not fix severe laxity.

A PDO Thread Lift can take up to two hours, and you should be able resume your daily activities immediately afterward. As the threads dissolve after 6-9 months, collagen production stimulates cellular renewal, keeping the skin tight, lifted, and rejuvenated.

PDO Thread lifts can be used on several different areas of the body, including:

●     Neck
●     Stomach
●     Cheeks
●     Jowls
●     Eyebrow area for a brow lift
●     Knees
●     Buttocks
●     Upper arms
●     Thighs

FAQs

Polydioxanone/PDO is a fully absorbable barbed suture that has been around for more than 20 years in plastic surgery. PDO Threads create a more youthful appearance by correcting sagging skin while also stimulating collagen and elastin production. The procedure is minimally invasive and improves the structure and text of the skin without having to go under the knife. When the threads are inserted correctly the chances of scarring are almost non-existent.

When you schedule a consultation with us, our provider will talk to you for about 20-30 minutes about what goals you have with PDO Threads. Our provider would never give you more threads than you need and if she believes PDO Threads aren’t the best option for you, and your goals, she will recommend a different service. If she does, she will give you an estimate on how many threads you will receive 10-12 threads per side to start is the minimum recommendation – and our staff will give you an estimate on how much the whole procedure will cost. If you need any financial assistance, we work with Cherry, you can find out how much you are approved for with this link! https://pay.withcherry.com/allenmedicalaesthetics

PDO threads are absorbable and will begin to naturally dissolve after 6 to 8 months. As the threads dissolve, more collagen is stimulated and as more collagen is stimulated, the effects of the threads will remain intact and even become more pronounced and natural. After the threads completely dissolve, the skin will remain tight and lifted for an additional 12 months because of the new collagen and elastin fibers that formed.
Plan to be at our facility for about an hour to an hour and half. After our staff checks you in, one of us will take you to a room and take some “Before” photos. If you had scheduled your consultation the same day as your procedure, this is when the consultation will begin. If the consultation has already happened, one of our staff members will apply a topical numbing cream to the area where threads will be inserted, the topical numbing cream stays on for about 15 to 20 minutes and is removed. An injected numbing is provided for additional comfort. Once you are all prepped, our provider will begin the procedure and insert the PDO Threads. Once the threads are inserted, a complimentary Radio Frequency treatment will be offered to help with the swelling and discomfort you may experience. Then a member of our staff will take the “After” photos and you’ll be good to go!
Swelling is normal for about a week or two after the procedure as your body is trying to adjust to something new inside of it, once swelling goes away completely you will be about to experience the full benefits of PDO threads. The PDO will continue to lift or build collagen for the next 4-6 weeks.
