At your consultation, your medication and health history will be discussed. Your blood pressure and BMI will also be measured to determine if Semaglutide is appropriate for you.
If Semaglutide is deemed appropriate, you will receive the first injection on the day of consultation.
Patients can lose significant weight on semaglutide because it suppresses appetite.
Semaglutide acts in the following ways:
Semaglutide requires a weekly injection. When you return to the office, your weight will be recorded and that will determine if your injection dose needs to increase or remain the same.
Semaglutide is suitable for almost anyone with weight to lose but has struggled to do so on their own.
The use of semaglutide is not recommended for people with medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC) or MEN 2 (a disorder of the endocrine system). Type I diabetics should not take semaglutide.
Depending on how much weight you want to lose, the length of treatment will vary.
Most patients do not experience issues with uncontrolled hunger. You will find even smaller servings to be completely satisfying. There are no specific food restrictions, although a healthy diet is recommended.
